I am in the process of building a dog house for my German Shepherd puppy. Can you please tell me what would be the correct size to accomodate her when she has reached her adult state?
According to the Humane Society of the US and the Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals in Canada, they say to make the inside measurements of the dog house about 3½ - 4 inches larger than the length of the dog. The height should be about 3 inches higher than the dog's height. These measurements are inside the finished dog house, so allow for the thickness of your materials for walls and ceilings.
The size of a German Shepherd when fully grown is up to you. I'm sure there are dog owners out there that can help you with that.
