Story Height

Question

What are the measurements of one story or the total rise of a one story staircase?

Answer

The total rise for one story in a typical house is 106 3/4". This is based on 92 1/4" studs, 3 plates, 2x10 joist and 5/8" thick sub-floor. This equals 14 risers at 7 5/8" typical stair rise.
